As the Founder of Humane First, Dr. Radhika Gulhar began her journey in undergraduate school at UCSD as the president of Project RISHI, orchestrating health education and screening camps for India's underprivileged. Advancing to medical training at CNU College of Medicine, she envisioned and initiated Humane First, a revolutionary online portal connecting individuals to charities, facilitating donations and volunteering. She also helped create SEVA Clinic, a free-student run clinic that provided medical screening, health educators, and preventive care for the local South East Asian Community. Now, as a dedicated physician at UCLA, she continues to expand and evolve this non-profit, intertwining medical expertise with a passion for global outreach.
Ruchi is a recent graduate from UCSD with a bachelors in Human Biology. Her passion for helping people started at her local temple, where she educated children. As president of Healthy Hearts, she worked with the Healthcare Military and Red Cross to provide free CPR certification to students. She also co-founded HILI to improve health insurance literacy and assist patients in managing medical bills. In addition, Ruchi worked hard during her undergraduate years and became a COPE health scholar where she got to help out the elderly at her local hospital. Ruchi continues to blend her health education expertise with her commitment to community service, significantly impacting patient advocacy and financial literacy. Her dream is to improve access to healthcare while also educating the future generation of healthcare workers
Dr. Sarvanand Patel, Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician and Nutrition Physician Specialist, leads our community-based free health clinics at Humane First, a nonprofit dedicated to connecting underserved communities with compassionate medical care. Under his guidance, our team has organized mobile health clinics at local temples across Los Angeles, providing weekly medical screenings and liver health assessments, while raising awareness about cirrhosis management. He also champions preventive health education by organizing monthly seminars on sleep-related disorders such as obesity and OSA. In parallel, Dr. Patel extends our mission through local street medicine outreach, delivering wound care, health counseling, and chronic disease support to unsheltered populations. He believes that meaningful healthcare reaches beyond hospital walls and into the heart of every community we serve.
